Need a UCC85 to complete a restoration I've been working on for a week, and came across this gem on epay
Mullard UCC85 Vintage Valve on eBay (end time 28-Jan-11 22:30:56 GMT)
"Tested all good" ... Can I stop laughing yet?
On a serious note to Toob Noobs ... tubes where the silver "getter flash" on the tube has gone white means the tube no longer has a vacuum... it certainly won't work...

Different heaters , and , as per usual, I have PCC85 and ECC85.... a 10L14 would doHi,
UCC85 - ECC85 this is the equivalent (VHF triode)
I'll have a look I remember a silver shiny old Mullard ECC85 out of an old radio somewhere!
Didn't know they now come with snow cap..LOL

Oh that's lovelly ... from the wording of the email, he expects someone to pay $800 and re-glass them .... anyone got a vacuum plant to hand...?
at least they're not "tested all good" ...
Years ago there were companies who re-built CRT's ... so I suppose it's not out of the question..... and a 300B would be worth more than an A56-540X!!!
Are there any plants left that do this? Used to be 2 or 3 in the UK to my knowledge, going back to the mid-late 80's though ...
