24 steps DIY attenuator info

Brian:

What you see is a DIY attenuator available in Taiwan. The price is about $25 ~ $30 USD, but you need to assemble yourself.

The site that sell it is here:
http://www.my3c.net/product/detail.asp?ky=&pid=1797&sgid=104&gid=7&gid2=&Sort=&Price=

The assemble DIY page is here:
http://www.diyzone.net/article.php?sid=369

It also has a page that allows you to calculate different value for your resistance needed, though all are in Chinese. If anyone needs help in translation, I will be glad to help.

The do sell and ship international, but the shipping is about $25 USD, which is high for one item; however, the shipping is fixed to any parts you buy!

The price is really amazing (amazingly low), I want to buy the attenuator. Are the brands "real", as in real Vishay real Dale?
I looked at one of your links: does the knob come with the kit?
Where do you see other products for sale? How do you pay these people? Are they thrustwordy?

There must be so many of these deals on these chinese sites too bad about the language barrier.

Yes, the site is very good and reliable DIY site in Taiwan. It uses real "Vishay/Dale" resistors (I believe is 1% tolerance). I ordered once from them for my BZLS.

To search, simply type "VR" and the item will show up!

You can either use online payment by credit card or fax them the order.

For online order, some info are in Chinese. If you need help in any field, send me an e-mail, I will do screen dump and translate it for you. BTW, I have no relationship with them; therefore, I am only do it as a help to DIYers. I take no commission from them!

The shipping is fixed for as many items as you can order. FYI
