1000W subwoofer Design/Module? What's recommended.

I'm looking for a working design or even a DIY kit for a Class-D subwoofer module do comfortably 1000W > into 4ohm load. Frequency range 10Hz - 1Khz
Split rail 65-0-65 or higher. no need for full audio range which is what most of the modules are spec'd for..

I've purchased and used stereo modules from Connexelectronic to retro fit some PA boxes. Have successfully configured in bridged mode with satisfactory results. re:- their IRS2092 Stereo Amplifier optioned for 2 x 700W. These modules from connexelectronic are good quality however, with the AUD down to 0.73 cents against the USD the cost of modules and freight costs me small fortune. I'm up for purchase of components and diy. I have 30 years in the service industry (Television service and broadcast) and competent in soldering SMD although my eyesight isn't as good with SMD stuff these days.

I have a couple of Mackie 15" boxes looking for new inners since these use a 12ohm 15" LF which are no longer obtainable nor reconeable..

Hit me up on a reliable design with a schematic and PCB design.

Many thanks.

The LJM L50 (a populated amp pcb) is spec'd for 1000W it into 4 ohms, but unfortunately your rail voltages are too high. This is a bridged output class-d design, sort of like two IRAUDAMP7, so rails only need to be +/- 50Vdc. Also of note, input sensitivity is only 0.5V. His amps are usually "reliable". Unlike other class-D amps from him, the output devices can actually be mounted on a heat-sink of your choosing and not some tiny little thing of limited radiating area. Buy via ebay or Aliexpress. DIYaudio thread here:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/vendors-bazaar/255963-500-1000w-8-ohm-l50-full-bridge-amp.html

There are also some high output power class-d amp modules available from seller Narin Fender on ebay. This is one example. You would need higher voltage rails, however, I have no idea of the "reliability".

if 950W into 4R is OK your project can be quickly completed if you buy this plate amp:
Dayton Audio SPA1000 1000W Subwoofer Plate Amplifier
They also sell via ebay.

Thanks CharlieLaub for the information. I've checked out the link you have provided. The LJM L50 is not a Class D design (no output AC recovery coil) and the size is too long. The plate amp look the better option of the two.

Still after a design so I can build myself.

Thanks again.

Dont know if my SMPS is an option.

Oops! I thought it was, since one diyaudio thread post about the amp mentions:
Because of using circuit is L15 L12 are using mature and reliable circuit.
There is a well known LJM amp called the L15D (I have used several of these) that is based on the IRAUDAMP7, so when he mentioned the "L15" I thought it was a bridged version of that amp. Now that I think about it, even two L15D driven out of phase would not reach 1000W, and the L15D isn't intended to drive a 2 ohm load.

How about this beast:
Mono 850 Watts 8 Ohm Module Class D Audio Power Amplifier Board Assembled | eBay
Now you need at least +/-100V rails...

CharlieLaub,

Have checked out the link below..

I'm wanting a full bridge design if possible for cancellation of power supply pumping. I already have a +65-0-65 split rail SMPS.
1000W 4ohm with protection be great.

You could DIY a full bridge from two half-bridge amp modules and a bridging circuit. You will need a 2ohm stable amp, for example the LJM L30D (actually digital this time!):
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/class-d/280531-l30d-irs2092-irfb-4227-iraudamp9-mydiy.html
Sold on Ebay and AliExpress, perhaps other places.

Two of these amps, operated out of phase, should give you what you are after and should be capable of well over 1000W into 4R with +/-65V SMPS rails.

bridge adaptor

Hello
greetings is it possible to bridge this stereo dclass amp as each channel is
2 ohms stable dc supply max 95 0 95 +/- kit ratings are 1200 watts in 2
ohms i would like to try bridiging it on this cheap 50$ kit

warm regards

If you're DIYing to save money, it doesn't make a lot of sense for sub amps when you can get multi-kW pro amps for so cheap, especially pre-depreciated used ones.

And you can get built-in DSP for practically free.

Robbo,

What have you decided to do on this? I need a very powerful sub amp for driving 2 x 18" woofers (dual cab). 1000W would be ideal.

I'm also in Australia and the exchange rate is certainly a BIG factor. DIY d class is the only way to go on this for me.
