looking for recommendations for a 12 inch woofer cabinet 3.3-3.5 cu ft vented, XO at 250hz to be used in a 3 way system, budget starting at $100 up to $250.
I assume that LESS than 3.3 cf is okay, since you can always seal off unneeded volume?
Dayton Audio SD315A-88 (dual voice coil, so this is a 4 ohm speaker)
Dayton DS315-8 or DSA315-8
Peerless by Tymphany NE315W-08
SB Acoustics SB34NRX75-6 12" Woofer (This is out of stock at Madisound so not sure if this is obtainable

The GRS 12SW-4 fits that bill quite nicely, I am extremely happy with the 4 I have running now, at $23 a piece when I got them, but still can be had for only $32 or so now. 🙂

i agree with Wolf,
i used the dual 12” XXLS in my recent 3 way. I wanted a sealed cabinet so chose the P830845 variant.
2 woofers in 4 cu ft total hits about 92-93dB/2.83V. Be careful with sub 4ohm impedance if running passive crossover.
Hit 112dB; and I’m not even sure how to measure distortion at that level; because the room is vibrating like a earthquake/tremor that we sometimes get here in northern Australia.
there are other XXLS variants that you can use ported or with a passive radiator. Paper cone or aluminium cone.
the Dayton RSS315-HF8 is also reported very good.
but it depends-you’ve stated cabinet size and price; but how low do you want to go and what sensitivity do you want to hit ?

I'd suggest BMS 12S330 but I have no idea if you can get it where you are or what a cu ft is in metric.

My favorites are Peerless NE315W-08, SB 34NRXL75-8 and SB34NRX76-6.
Last one is best in sealed cab, others work well ported but the Peerless sounds best to me sealed.

There you go, it wouldn't fit the criteria: The box would be too small! It gives an F3 of 32Hz from a 60L (about 2cu ft) vented box. 🙂Google and 28.3L
That would be an EBS alignment and their efficiency figure is somewhat misleading. In reality it is around 90dB 1W/1m. Costs about £150ea in the UK.
