I am looking for the Maplin catalogue with the 150WRMS bipolar amplifier in it.
I think it is the 1980 catalogue.
Email me with your price if you have got one for sale.

There is a 150W bipolar amp in the 1988 catalogue. Is that the same one? About a page and a half, including circuit diagram and component list.

That is the mark 2 version with the To3 packages mounted on a heatsink on the pcb.
It was the early 1980's version I am after.
Was that the correct schematic?
You sent the 50 watt amplifier module schematic.
It is the 150 watt that I need. Also any info on pcb legend would be great too as my pcb's don't have a legend on them.
The module has 2n3055 and mj2955 on the outputs.
It has bd711/712 drivers.
There are two versions, an older one (BB20W) from about 1980 which has output mosfets mounted externally on a heatsink. THis is the one I want.
But there is also a newer one (LW32K) with the output transistors on the pcb. I already have info on this.

The original circuit was designed/promoted by Hitachi (based on a Hafler design if I remember correctly)and was in an example booklet on how to use their mosfets.
The Dave Goodman Maplin circuit is pretty much a clone of it.
the original is here A Paul Kemble web page - Hitachi Fet designs.

That is a mosfet amplifier and info is freely available on it.
I am looking for Maplin code BB20W which is a 150WRMS bi-polar amplifier using 2n3055 and mj2955. It is from around 1980.

Whoops ! its not a mosfet amplifier it is bi-polar my bad.
I have the catalog @ 1980 (its undated) with the bipolar LW32K in it. N PCB layout and uses the 3055/2955 TO3 outputs on a separate heatsink.
I can scan it if its any use

hi fellow music lovers, i have a maplin 25w pc mosfet amp. i have thrown away my giro and decided to renew parts. i already have the mains, inputs, outputs etc in mind as i intend to rehouse the amp into another chassis. thank you in advance.
regarding the 25wpc mos amp.....it has j48 and k134 devices, it sounded very good to my untrained ears way back then. ive just got it back from the ex after 30-odd years and wonder if it is worth any effort to restore/upgrade, or am i best pulling out the mosfets and starting from scratch. TIA. regards brian.
Sorry to re-awake this thread, but going through a box of dead amps I was given is a pair of the BB20Ws in unknown condition. Does anyone still have the schematic?

Do you want to sell one or both of them ?
Thank you. Can start working on what is not stock before working out why one side went phut. Looking at the wiring and the heatsinking I have an inkling... 🙂

Well as they were free to me if you can give them a good home you can have them and gain me brownie points!
