I just saw this amp mentioned on another forum and decided that for $30 I have to have one. Thought it might be of interest even though not DIY.

Im going to re-chassis it if it sounds good using binding posts and proper RCA jacks etc. Oh and the PS is optional (wallwart) if you dont want to use batteries.

Sounds like there is a Tripath TA1101B working in the amp.
It delivers 15W per channel class-T.
In germany you can get it as a kit for 30€ and finished up for 70€.
I´d say it´s a really good deal for what it´s worth and probably would make a nice little PC amplifier.

I wonder if i would be able to find one in Australia?
Seems Interesting?
Make sure you post some info about it wen you get it and maybe some pics.

I picked up a couple of these to play with. Haven't done much with them yet though. I'd suggest running them from a 12V SLA battery - it will provide much better performance than either a wall-wart or a set of alkiline cells. A 7Ah battery plus charger will run probably $25 or so, so it won't break the bank.
The entire amp is a single small PCB, so moving it to a new chassis won't be much of a challenge. Given the cheapo connectors on the stock unit and complete lack of shielding (plastic case) it has the potential to make some noticable improvements.
BTW - the 15W rating is highly optimistic. Figure more like 8-10W of clean power.

seen this one really late...
Here´s the amplifier-link.
That´s the building-plan + schematic as pdf-file.

(If you have any questions about the german text you can drop me a mail.)
You can also just buy the PCB if you want.:

Mmmh, links (except pdf) don´t work.
In that case go ELV and search for "class-t"
First thing that comes up is the 300W-version, then the the single PCB (T30) and finally the kit or finished T30.
Bought one of these a while ago-there is a picture of the insides in the zipped folder below. A pretty good sounding amp,but not as good as my gainclone. The only thing I didn't like about it is that it produces quite a bit of hiss through the speakers, even with batteries.
