6av6 Diode use?

Hi

I was wondering if you knew what the diodes in a 6av6 are often used for? Could I use one as a point to apply feedback, and if so could I apply ac feedback only or would it need to have dc as well to work? Thank you!

Jor

Those are small signal diodes. The normal useage is that one functions as a simple, unbalanced AM demodulator, and that the other one serves as an AGC diode. sometimes (but not very often) they are used to implement a singly balanced demod. The 6AV6 was intended for use in AM BCB radios as a combined demodulator and first audio preamp.

The PRV and current ratings aren't all that high for those diodes, and aren't much useful for anything else.
