7" Portable DVD Player -- Possible DIY Projector

Has anyone tried to use a portable DVD player as a projector LCD source.

Amazon has a 7" with DVD and digital coax audio out also composite video in for $188.

You could build an all-in-one projector player...

Just an idea.

I already have my lilliput 7"

As long as you realize that the region setting would be wrong for Netherlands DVDs, I would be happy to forward one of those units to you as long as you're paying for the shipping. I make weekly international shipments, so that would be plenty easy for me to do.

Purchase a Shinco or mintek 1720 portable player they have a very good 7" tft screen with 370:1 contrast rate, alot better than the lilliput screen, the resolution 480*234 is not so bad for normal tv viewing. This is the best thing I have bought in a long time and I will never take it apart.

Portable dvd players are not high enought resolution you have to get the 7" lilliput with vga input it has a high resolution like a lcd monitor, in essence it is a monitor.

Yes be careful - lilliput makes a lot of LCD panels, but not all of them are what people are talking about here. Many of them have the typical low resolution that most other auto panels have. Make sure before you buy!
