Acoustic Resonators

I don't know if this is the right forum to ask, since there isn't a "Room Tuning" forum, this forum is as close as it gets.

There is a buzz in the HiFi world now on these Acoustics Systems Resonators.

SixMoon has been writing up review after review in the past 12 months.

Has anyone here listened the difference that these little resonators make, in opening and closing room soundstage ? What I am seeking is a DIY method to make these as they are pretty expensive.

Wow ... over 50 views and only one person is courageous enough to voice their opinion !

Well most people wouldn't even shake Frank Tchang's hand a year and half ago at audio shows thinking it was snake oil. Too many people have said that they do hear a significant difference to be of any doubt.

How does that follow?

You mean if a bunch of people see an image of the Virgin Mary on a tortilla at Juan's Taco Hut, then it must follow that it really is an image of the Virgin Mary?

se

Don't get me wrong, I am a skeptic too, I wanted someone here to prove me wrong ! ..LoL

Beaks like these!

BEAK

Tuning pods that control resonances and allow for better driver integration.

Results in imaging and dynamic improvement.

I have heard speakers with these on... can't tell the damn difference!

Oh, you mean driver plugs like these http://www.planet10-hifi.com/pp-info.html , the good ones are made out of wood and they are suppose to let the resonace out of the driver that is trapped with the driver material.

I don't like Totems, even though I never heard one ...LoL

Someone told me they don't even solder their crossovers, they twist the wires together for the fear that it might alter the sound ...WTF

This is a bit taken from the 6moons 6page jizzfest telling how the guy who invented these thinks he can actually see sound wavelengths passing through the air.

Franck confided that he actually does see the air. Watching him roam the house to decisively affix resonators and diffusors in the most unlikely places was the stuff of legend. You can feel the effects but you can't see them. And you don't understand how he sees 'em. "Nothing that 14-hour days over five long years couldn't fix." He's honed his sensitivity like a blind Japanese masseur who sees energy meridians and whose hands know where to go and what to do to relieve tension. Franck is the royal air masseur.

Complete and utter joke. I long thought 6moon review's to be of questionable value but this is just too much. Infact I hate what it stands for so much that I'm going underground to learn the deviant art of hacking. Then once I'm done with that, I'll pay them a visit and replace every photo on that website with a picture of Rosannes fat backside.

If 6moons was magazine, my ******* would be too good to wipe with it.

Ant, mind your language.

Sorry, the anger built up after reading paragraph after paragraph of utter rubbish in that review.

I've played around with room acoustics and treatments a lot and frankly it insults the senses of good people and long proven science to even consider a fraction of that review to be true. I mean a 2cm diameter cup affecting bass frequencies below 100hz... do we look like idiots or something?

Where's the in-room 'before and after' measurements of these things?

Things like this do absolutely nothing to further the art. If you want room treatments go look at Auralex, RPG's or another well respected treatment specialist who actually have proven methods, scientific data and professional industry support to back up their claims.
