Amp board for 5.1 with optical input?

Hello,
I use a TPA3116 amplifier board to have surround sound on my pc. At the moment I use a USB sound card with 3.5mm jacks as output. Since my mainboard also has an optical (SPDIF) out, I would prefer an amplifier board directly with optical in. Or, if that doesn't exist, maybe a small DAC board with output pins similar to the input pinstrip of the amplifier (at the bottom of the picture). All I found was big DAC boards with Cinch output which wouldn't really be a step up in my situation. Does anyone know of such boards / modules?
Thank You!

My amp arrived today! Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to work. The USB part works perfectly, the USB Sound card is recognized by my PC. I connected a 19V power supply (I used 1mm² end wire connectors) and all 4 amp leds turn on. When I connect a speaker, there is a (very quiet - you have to put your ear to the speaker) white noise, but no PC sound at all.
I am now waiting for a reply from support.

Pity...
what did you try, as an audio file...
there may be a license problem ... dolby digital or dts.
Depending on your reader, you may need to send only PCM.
Have you tried with a common MP3 file?
Playback software is also important.
I will try tomorrow... If I have time! 🙄 🙄 🙄

Hi, thanks for your tips. I've tried various mp3 files as well as the surround configuration in the windows control panel - so it cannot be a license problem. In the meantime I also tried connecting the mute pin to ground - when i do that, the white noise in the speakers stop so I think the amplifiers themselves work. I also tried removing the USB daughterboard and directly connecting the wires from a 3.5mm jack - still no sound...

Congratulations on getting it to work! It seems mine is indeed broken. The good news is, your stereo problem is probably only wrong settings.
Just type win-r, then input "control" so you get to the old control panel. There you can say view "small symbols". One of the symbols should say "sound" and there you can select the usb sound device, say configure and select the right surround mode.
