Amp L/R to Sub +/- Question

Hello All,

This is my system:
JBL 2.0 Rhythm
CPU Speakers (35-250Hz, 3.5mm subwoofer output)

Optimus SA-155
Stereo Amp w/Mono Button (20-20kHz, 1.8Wrms, 8-16ohm, RCA L/R input and output)

Samsung PSW610e
Sub (35-250Hz, 100W@1kHz, 4ohm, speaker wire +/- input)

I will use 3.5mm to RCA from speakers to amp, then RCA to spkr wire from amp to sub.

My question is, how can I connect my amp to my sub? Is it recommended to connect L to + and R to -?

Also, with the mono button, this means that only L or R will output a signal right (or becomes a differential or common-mode output)? I'm not sure if it's a mono output from the CPU speakers.

I know the specs are far from optimal, but I'm working with what I got and I feel that as long as my amp isn't overcompensating the power into the sub, I should be safe. 😱

So from what I understand, I'm creating a mono (bridging) signal by inverting one of the outputs from the amp and connecting them together. Then, the outter most + and - leads will go to the Sub inputs.

What I'm not understanding is, how will I know if I need a 4ohm resistor in series with the Sub load? I'm assuming negligible output impedance from the amp.

Are you saying that, if the output impedances are 4ohm (across Left and Right), then the bridged mode (Sub+ to L+, L- to R+, then R- to Sub-) will need an 8ohm load (4ohm resistor in series with load)?

I feel like I'm confusing myself.

What if I didn't bridge the amp outputs, and what if I used the mono button?

From what I can make out from a quick internet search on your equipment I would say try connecting the Sub to one output from the Optimus SA-155 only and see how that works.
The amp is rated at 1.8W per channel 8 ohms😱

I do not see any "Samsung PSW610e"-but I can find an ALPHASONIK PSW610e. Are you sure about the brand or model number? And what are the CPU speakers? Is there a model number? If they have a 3.5 mm sub out, it seems they are self-powered and you are not actually powering them from the Optimus.

You are not bridging nor should you try to bridge the little Optimus, it will blow up. Now, into the speaker inputs, maybe. But not connecting plus to minus, I think that will make cancellation.

Some more specific info or better yet pictures would let us help you more.

@head_unit

The specs I posted are 100% correct and accurate. The CPU speakers are the JBL 2.0 Rhythm's, as I posted in my first post. What kind of info are you thinking about?

I plugged in the Subwoofer out from my speakers into my audio interface and saw that I'm only getting a mono output from the left and a small noise output from the right.

I think you're mistaking what I meant by bridging.. If an output is L/R, each has its own +/-, so a stereo amp output channel will have L+/- and R+/- and if you read my post, it was connecting them in series to add voltages, not L+ to its own -. I would hope that after 6 years of studying electrical engineering would at least give me that...lol

I believe the correct cabling for my system would be mono 3.5mm to RCA from the speakers to the amp and then RCA to speaker wire for the amp out to the speaker in, most likely L+/- to speaker in +/- since I mostly get noise from the R output of the cpu speakers.
