Anybody ever used a oldschool hifonics zeus VII or VIII for front 2 way or 3 way

Hi, I was wondering if anyone here has used an oldschool hifonics zeus VII or VIII amplifier to power their 2 way or 3 way component sets. I am looking to replace my alpine 3544 amp ,which is 300 rms watts. My 3 way components take up all the 300 watts, and actually need about 350 rms watts, just to give them the minimum listed wattage on each speaker totaled up.This causes the alpine 3544 amp to heat up very quickly , when i decide to turn it up to reference levels.Though there is no distortion, and everything sounds very lively smooth, and detailed, when listening at high volumes.I'm not able to enjoy it for long, since the amp starts getting very hot very quickly, since I barely have enogh power to power the speakers.I would like to try a zeus VII or zeus VIII for my 3 way So I have lots of extra power, so my amplifier won't be working to the max,and will stay cool, and providing me the extra headroom I need for dynamics as well.I am used to the alpine 3544 amp sounding very full, clean, and detailed when turned up,and worry that though the hifonics zeus will give me the headroom I desire to keep the amplifier cool at all times,It will drastically be a step down in sound quality compared to the alpine 3544 amp sound quality. I never seem to hear anybody talking about theses oldschool hifonics zeus VII and VII amplifiers being used for anything but for use with subwoofers.Part of me says this should not be the case. Since the extra headroom will mean everything is working easy ,and there is extra power left to be even more sounding than the alpin 3544 amplifier. Can the hifonics zeus VII and VII amps keep up to the alpine 3544 in the sound qualiy department ,While kicking the crap out of the alpine in the headroom department.I am not willing to take a step back from the sound quality I have now.Feel free to chime in ,and and let me know all about your experiences with these great oldschool hifonics zeus VII and VIII series amplifiers .Thank You

The amps will sound fine.

You should be aware that the capacitors in these amps leaked doing significant damage where the circuit board has to be cut away to allow the amp to be used. The example below shows a smaller amp but the damage is similar.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. It sounds like after seeing your pictures that,I should have the amps opened up and checked out fully. As for the sound quality comparison of the two amplifiers. Have you personally heard the hifonics zeus on a 2 way or 3 way set up,and do you think because of the extra headroom,I will get even better sound quality than the alpine 3544 amp is putting out.

Hi, Thanks for swaying me towards purchasing an oldschool hifonics zeus amplifier. It sounds like it will be easily as good sounding as the alpine 3544,with a bonus of the extra headroom I needed.I have never heard of anybody using them for other than subwoofers.Thats why I was a little worried it may not be good for running, midbass, midrange, and tweeters. I am using an alpine spx-f17t crossovers, so everything has to be directed through it, so I should be good. I am looking for a hifonics zeus VIII series amp. What is the going price for those amps, so I don't over pay. Are there any people you know that would have one for sale. Thanks again
