Apogee AE-12A can work in 2024?

Guys,
There is a pair of Apogees AE12A's cabinets that are offered to me , looks like they are dual 18's .

The price looks reasonable for the cabinets only, I mean worst case scenario (busted drivers)

Good scenario: they will kick for some more years

There is a special on 2 drivers right now
LaVoce SAF184.01 - 8 149bux
And
Beyma 18WRS600 - 8 159bux

Does any of those will work on the Apogees?

Or I need something like 18TBX100

Rolando,

Apogee cabinets were solidly built using 3/4" Baltic Birch.
If they are real, they weigh ~85 kilograms, ~187 pounds.

The ports would be undersized for high displacement drivers, but OK for something like the Beyma 18WRS600 with it's 8.5mm Xmax.

If you wanted to go with higher power/displacement/output drivers increasing port length and area would be easy to do.

There is a processor that come with that system originally but I guess I will need to use the old DRPA and dial some HP BW 24 @ 28Hz and maybe some EQ.

how do you spot if the cabs are not originals

If it's 13ply and heavy, the rigging hardware and the Apogee Sound logo looks legit, it probably is original.

I've never seen a knock-off Apogee Sound cabinet, they were never all that popular in the live sound market 1985-1999.
After that they were bought by Bogen, a company more known for 70volt line paging systems in factories, restaurants, schools and churches.

Idk if there are 2 discreet chambers or the whole volume shared by the 2 drivers
