I’m considering buying a used alpha 10 amp, but it says the remote doesn’t work. So I need to know if this is probs an easy fix (like a new remote), or if it’s a known issue with the amplifier model itself plz?
Hard to tell from a distance, but the odds are high it's the remote.
What you can do is pressing buttons at the remote while pointing it at the camera of your phone. The camera will pickup infrared light and show the led on the remote flashing if it's working. If it doesn't you can be pretty sure the remote is dead.

98% of remote faults are down to the remote and provided the remote is actually the correct one and in one piece then its more than likely an easy fix. Common issues are battery terminal corrosion, dries on the IR LED, ceramic resonators often suffer a lead breaking. Occasionally IR diodes fail. All remotes suffer user abuse but they wash up a treat usually.
Faults in any main unit are rare and typically limited to the receiver. Easy fix again with a new one.
