hi all,

this is my recently Home work.

Since when I heard my dream amp in My friend's home was very very impressed for it sound.

I was so so so poor that cannot afford it's price but it really a very good amp. Kondo's signature sound stage was very musical, detail with moisture & air.

so..... I decide to build my poor man Ongaku 211 tube amp. Hope I can pass basic standard!!!!

The protype of the top plate was approx funish, after funish I will anode oxidized first, copper plate will try later.

Since my friend had real Kondo series tube amp. I can compare with them after I funish. I hope use cheaper price can provide little similar Kondo's signature sound shadow.

thx

thomas

Kondo San himself explained many times that his amplifier would not be any special if not built as it is built. I.e. proprietary to his materials.
On the other hand I guess you are about to show us how much percentage of it is circuit and how much original material. I wish you good tone. Keep us posted.

hi salas,

since I love Kondo tube amp mch but its really very expensive.

I was OEMer of japan audio transformers. I can directly input 4N & 5N polyurthane silver wire & tantalum resistors from Japan.

sure some of the parts I still cannot get such as the coupling cap of the amp because it was tailor made by audionote japan himself.

take a look of the tailor made ( hand made cap ) of kondo amp.

I only hope to use cheaper price ( because of my material price ) can maintain in cheap price.

No other!!!! this will be a silly experience.

thx

thomas

Hello Thomas

Cloning in DIY has got a broader meaning and is experimenting around an original form and technique. In that way you are still cloning. I have listened to Meishu, Ongaku, GakuOn. Refined products.

hi,

spec was same as the schmatic in internet.

several of my friends try already & now I will try the 10K OPT first with 6N 4 layers polyurthane with secondary was 5N monocrystalline polyurthane coat wire.

internet circuit was use 16K, but I was afraid 16K cannot use below 1000V had 27W output. I will prepare two OPT to test.

I can do the red copper plate with 3M teflon coated to prevent oxidized already.

the original spec 10K was hand mde already which was order by one internet buyer.

10K, 48 with 260Ohm.

thx

thomas

Hi Thomas,

Have you measured the square wave response and frequency response curve of your OPT's? It would be very interesting to see how good they are.

By the way, I noticed that Audio Note uses copper as the cover for their double C-core OPT but your ones are metal cans. Does it make any differences at all?

Johnny

hi kmtang,

the square wave I test in 10Khz was very good.
In sincewave will from 25Hz~47Khz -2db. ( This is a 10K impendance OPT).

I understand audionote was use copper,

Pls try to use coper cannot shield for the leakage of the magnetic interference. My chassis was USE 1mm oriental Hi-B.

BTW, I was talking Kondo Ongaku. Not Audionote Uk, I compare both. I don't like audionote UK versions.

My friends love & use audionte japan, I clone to copmapre too.

this is my choice.

After I funish the clone Ongaku I will directly compare to Knodo audionote only.

thx

thomas

My friend use approx full set of Kondo.

I've seen several schematics of the ongaku but they aren't very clear.

any chance you can share your copy?

thank you.

this one?

I looked at the schematic and I'm confused with the tubes.

I assumed:

1. the tubes on top of each are 6072
2. the middle tube is a 5687
3. lastly, what are those to tubes besides each other that's at the output? one of them I would assume would be a 211. what's the other?

1. two triode systems on input (SRPP) are within one 6072 envelope
2.first half of 5687
3. second half of 5687 is cathode follower for mighty 211,which is output (end tube)
