I was originally going to buy an EMU 1212m, but that card isn't supported in OS X. I'm doing DAW work in Logic on my OS X Lion partition, and film work on my Win7 partition. I need a professional MIDI sound card that will work in both for around $150. The ESI Juli@ looks to be good, but I'm curious of the performance since it's only 112dB SNR, vs the 1212m which is 120dB. Will I notice the difference between the two (or another sound card that has higher SNR than the Juli@)? If so, what is a pro MIDI card with the best quality DAC's for around $150?
Try gearslutz. They will have more people with hackintosh DAW. Most people here are into playback, not recording. There are threads on gearslutz specifically for hackintosh DAW as I recall.

Use straight Win7 with ASIO and you will be better off than with a hacked Mac OS.

better off in the same way as youde be better off at a sizzlers all you can eat buffet as opposed to a decent restaurant with a few well put together meals on the menu
looks like the OP already has a workflow and rather expensive industry standard software that is suited to macintosh. working with Logic is the main thing here and in that list, nothing comes close to the capabilities of logic pro for film and video scoring. giveaway software and plugins may be ok for an entry level consumer, but given the OP has logic pro and probably quite a few rather expensive plugins for it; suggesting what are toys by comparison isnt really helping.

Hardware is identical (a PC with a hacked MAC OS, with hacked drivers). DAW Software used is the same. Is nothing "magical" that one OS can do in this case. Just the myth that "MAC's are for making music" from the 90's, when PC didn't have good software.

but the software you linked is quite frankly not up to the task, he is running logic, he knows how to use logic in his work environment, hes in a professional environment learning a new suite when hes already got a perfectly good one is a good solution? these are DEEEP software packages.
150 isnt going to buy much though
do you need the inputs mate? as in do you need decent mic pres on the ADC? or is it simply having the audio grunt and 2 in 2 out you need? the juli@ is ok and down the line easily modded for i2s output to an external dac (but forget an async dac due to latency) but its not really known for its audio. lion has rendered a number of used pieces of hardware unusable so buying used high quality kit isnt really going to work, though that might be a different story on hackintosh as you still have the old PCI slots if you want them I guess.
hmm the EMU is a good card no doubt and probably unmatched for the money mainly due to what used to be solid drivers, but I though they had actually fallen behind with that and still hadnt released a 64bit driver for it. you could go for an M-audio 1010LT, but its not quite there with the performance of the EMU (if it actually works, id look into that) next up would be something like an old RME card

They have the 64 bit drivers for EMU (0404, 1212, 1616 and 1820) and works well - I am using it right now. ASIO of course.
IMHO: a pro user that knows how to use logic under MacOS don't build up a hackintosh and an entry-level soundcard. He would buy regular
Imacs with proper, well supported hardware. Or if "super pro" just switch to windows version of logic/pro tools with ease.
BTW: in that parice range I would suggest a prosumer USB external soundcard, depending on your i/o needings and if u're a producer of a live performer etc etc.
-External soundcards are much better, especially with custom build daws. It's even better if you look for a card that can be used with external power supply and not only usb-powered, this would solve many eventual issues.

I've got a tascam us-144 for 5 years, it worked fine all the time and that's cheap, very portable and bulky. BTW, i don't know anything 'bout mac drivers except the fact that they exists. And i won't reccomend this soundcard due to lack of output (despite of a 360° input connectors) and external power source.
Don't know your needings, your budget, and your speakers, so cannot tell you more than this general advices
