Big screen tv; screen repair...

This is a tough one perhaps.

I got a projection tv that I fixed up from a rather dead state.
The tv works fine and has an excellent picture, once converged, and the trouble is that I got a bad scratch in the screen.

Like a total idiot, I polished the scratch out perfectly, but also stripped some of the blacklining out.

Does anyone know of a method to replace this that's effective?

I think that wiping flat black paint on there and then wiping the top surface of the grooves clean might do it and leave the paint in the grooves, but not on the outside surfaces.

Any ideas?

That sounds like it would work, but I'm not sure I'm visualizing the problem correctly. Are you able to post a picture for us to see just so that I can make sure before I give you bad advice? If push comes to shove, you can find a replacement front screen from local TV repair shops for about $100 usually, although obviously rubbing some paint or ink in there would be much cheaper if possible.
