Hello,I have been looking for Black gates 220uf NP 35/50v all over the net but, no luck. Do you know where I can get these caps or a substitution for a Black Gate capacitor (quality).I need better quality than just regular electrolytic NP capacitors.thank you😕

Hi Peter! Well what should I replace these 220uf NP 35v caps with?. should I use two 100uf NP Black Gates in parallel?.Thank you.:smash: I hear Elnas are good too but, I have used Black Gates capacitors with an excellent results and I am very happy with Black Gates. I know they are expensive but, they are worthy!.

Well,I have not found any Panasonic Fc 220uf NP or Elna cerafine NP. this is not so common value or what?.Percy has Black gate 220uf NP but in 160v and I think is really big since it is not solder legs,it is "snap"in cap.

as you can see I do not have so much room on the board.it is the "yellow ones one in each board"

Hello Peter! I am not sure if I should use a "POLARISED" cap instead of the "NON-POLARIZED" cap. Here is the schematic, check capacitor #7 it is 220uf 25v NP. and if I "can" use the polarized cap, should I put the negative line to the ground?

Intending to restock my supply of 220 uF non-polarized capacitors for use in audio amplifier feedback circuits, I ordered a few more Black Gate NXs and some Nichicons at various voltages. Parts Connection only had the 50 V NPs and 6.3 V BGs.

I checked several of these on a capacitor meter and a Dick Smith ESR meter. The 50 V Nichicons measured about .03 ohms impedance to the Black Gates about .14 ohm, at whatever frequency the ESR meter runs at. Capacitance was about 210 uF for the Nichicons and nearly 300 uF for the Black Gates--electrolytics aren't noted for precision values.

Wish I could have picked up more of the lower-voltage Nichicons. I noticed that Nichicon's specified tan-d goes down as voltage increases, which I imply to mean potentially lower distortion in my application. Black Gate has never posted specifications, to my knowledge.

Thinking I should set up a burn-in rig with some low-voltage AC and see if the values change significantly.
