Hello, this board is from Ebay, and it sounds terrible, no bass really, any type of source or mode (bluetooth, aux, fm).
Can datasheet be found somewhere for this chip? I'd like to see on paper some specs showing me it's really built to sound terrible.
I'm thinking about buying another similar one to try, because I like the versatility, but maybe all these boards/ics sound bad? Is there similar board with hifi sound?
Thanks

No, it has line level output. I'm using TPA3116 poweramp to drive the speakers.

It's a Jieli Bluetooth chipset, the identification marks makes it difficult to determine the exact chip type.
Check the Sanwu TDA7492P + Bluetooth 2.1 thread where you'll find a datasheet for some info that may help.

Hi Indiglo, thank you for the answer. I looked at the datasheet and it seemed it should sound decent. It was entirely my fault - I resoldered all connections and that fixed the issues. I had the output soldered on the back side of the board before, and soldering the output on the top of the board worked well, maybe the holes are not connected through?
It actually sounds good - it definitely sounds great for $6. Full spectrum sound, excellent FM reception, etc.
It is not perfect though; bluetooth mode has typical noise (crickets) all the time. Every time I disconnect power it boots up at max volume so if I'm not careful the house is in for a nasty surprise. Bluetooth status-sounds are always loud. Generally it's quite loud, even at volume 1 out of 30 (with 30w TDA8932T power amp).
Anyway, I'm glad I asked, hope someone finds this helpful.. 🙂
