BOWER AND WILKINS CDM 7NT
Are these speakers any good?I know they are expensive etc but I listened to a pair today and i didn't think much of them, but that could be because i like a different sound and they were played through an SS amp which i really don't like.Just my personal taste.

but whatever ... this is a very good DIY forum, and probably not much good as a AV review magazine 😉

Not sure what SS amp you used, but that may be part of it; SS amps have come a long ways in recent years. Still, if you like a different sound (meaning you don't like how they sound), it hardly matters if others think they're good.
B&W tend to like crossing over higher, rather than lower to their 6.5" drive units and this can create a specific type of sound that you may not like. Of course the room has a huge impact on the sound quality too, so it's hard to say that it was the loudspeakers that you didn't perhaps like.
Yes very true. From what i've been told they are amazing for HD Cinema and i believe that, that is what they sound like they would be good for.The high's are amazing but too much for me.The bass is what i call "a mild boomy sound" BUT the hearing SAX on them was beautiful. They look incredible too!...I think you would need the whole 5.1 system and then your in business! That is my last word because i believe someone should explain their reasoning,(whether wrong or right)but yes this is a DIY forum.only one small wimpy woofer
