Hi everybody,
I would like to ask some help in connection with 2-way loudspeaker building. The tweeter is nearly independent from the box, so now deal only with the woofer's cabinet. I have a pair of Eminence Delta 15 LFA speaker (the older red backplate version with USA flag, but I think the specs still the same), but I can't find cabinet design specifically for this. Can You recommend for me a good a design? I won't use it for PA, so I would like better sound quality with powerful lower frequencies, instead of high sound pressure.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
For domestic use its best used in an undersized sealed box
with a Linkwitz transform to get the needed low bass.
Otherwise you looking at big sealed boxes with limited bass,
though you can add simple extra low bass boost to the mix.
Active Filters
Optimising an LT is a juggling act of compromises, that only
the implementer can decide upon, there is no "right" way.

If there's no problem with large cabinets, I don't see what's wrong with a big vented cabinet for Deltas at home. Way more LF before xmax than an EQ'd sealed cabinet. Something like the factory recommendation but tuned a little bit lower.

Hi,
A big vented cabinet will work, but does not trade SPL for low bass.
A smaller sealed EQ'd box does, how much depends on how small
and how much EQ, but needs more power for a given SPL. With
no EQ for good bass you need to build a box quite a bit bigger
than than you would for a portable PA cabinet.

Thanks for the replies!
I haven't got the tweeters yet, not like the amp, what I already have, therefore I can't use active crossover. On the other hand, I don't prefer the sealed cabinets, because as I know, the sealed loudspeakers make the fewest bass.
I have found the Eminence's design too, but I don't know how can I build it, because there isn't any draw or proportions. I wouldn't like to build a huge cabinet, but if I have enought place in the room and its sound is correct, I think the sizes dosen't going to cause any problems, I hope...

nzozz. Did you ever build it? I have the 15LFA in a small sealed cabinet with plate amp to boost my bass since I have open baffles. Only on one side. The other side this weekend.
Currently in a closed box. Size 29,5cm * 36cm * 56cm= 60 liters. So I'm going to fill it up with sand in plastic bags to get the volume down.
Not feeling the need for filling it...though...its a massive improvement over the 12 inch drivers I had in there.
The setting is for my audio system at home.
