Hello fellow DIYers.
Got a DDC with I2S over HDMI. As I can't find an adequate place to tap the signals on the single ended side, is it possible to only use the positive wires of the differential signal for my dac.
Signal travels at most 4 inches from HDMI plug to I2S input connector.

Thanks.
Can't check the datasheet of the transmitter chip as it's markings are scratched out.
Signal voltage will probably not be above supply voltage.

Got one of those but pin out is different and I don't want another active component.

Can you not bypasss the HDMI converter and just use the cable to transmit native I2S? (as you are negating the benefit by not having a receiver at the dac end.)
If it is from the Hdmi at Your UAC-1 DDC to Your “chinese R2R dac.
You can buy a Hdmi to I2S board there are made to Your chinese R2R dac like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007974816075.html
