I have a Logitech Z560 amp/sub that has 4.1 channels. I believe the original speakers are 8ohm and the amp puts out 53w per speaker.
Is it possible to use this amp with new speakers? Would any speakers rated for 53+ watts and 8ohms work? Would there be anything else I need to look for to make sure the speakers could work?
Are there any mid/high/full range speakers (< $60) that have a nice sound and would work with this amplifier? I will need to screw the speakers directly into wood inside a 30" x 45" x 36" table. The speakers will be part of a computer type setup, but musical applications will be the focus so decent sound is needed.
Any recommendations or thoughts would be great! =)

Those Logitechs are probably Tangband drivers, probably very similar to these here:

The same can probably be said for the subwoofer driver, probably similar to this:

I doubt that "subwoofer's" built-in amplifier can actually provide an entire 53 watts to each of those full-range drivers at realistic distortion levels, probably more like 1/4 of that at a satisfying THD level. 53 watts at 4 ohms to the woofer, maybe...but to the full-ranges, doubful. Anyhow, when you say you're going to screw them into a wood table, how so exactly? I'm assuming they'd be pointing at you some how. Is this a computer desk of some sort? Could it be classified as an infinite baffle configuration? If so, I think you should think this through a bit more, and consider a few things first. Like...any affects that the baffle will have on the final frequency response of the specific driver. Where's the back wave going? Is there a variable highpass crossover for the full-range speakers on that amplifier? What about a variable lowpass for the woofer? If so, what type and slope? Are you wanting to use a different driver for the subwoofer as well? Would you use the same enclosure? Is that enclosure sealed, vented, or what? There are a small few 8" drivers that might fit the mounting holes that are a bit better quality, but any real benefits would be negligible. And if you're stuck with using a vented enclosure, there's a very high chance that it'd likely turn out sounding worse than what you had before you started all this mess.

Due to my timeframe and lack of real building skills (like speaker enclosures) I'm looking for the simplest way of integrating speakers into the table. Right now, as you can see from the picture, they are just screwed into the sides using the speaker's mounting holes.
The reason I wanted to use the logitech amp is due to the fact that all I would have to do is connect the speaker wire to the amp input. The sub woofer driver would stay the same.
I don't want to take apart the logitech speakers and use those which is why I am looking for something different and possibly better. I don't really have enough knowledge, money, and time to be able to build a professional sounding system, but I would like for it to at least sound decent and be able to sound almost (if not all) the full range.

So would this pose a problem of using the logitech amp? Also, where would be the best place to mount the speakers? If I use two speakers would mounting on opposite ends like the picture be best? If I end up doing 4 channels (since I may do some Spatialization things) where would it be best to mount all 4 speakers? One on each side? 2 on both long sides?
