I can not get any standby power indication. I’ve tried the reset to factory per owners manual but no joy. On some of the earlier Elite models there was a special series of button pushes that could take them out of hibernation.
I’ve been swapping panels, thermal sensor, power supply/standby boards, transformers, and I’m still in the process. The device I’m cannibilizing from did power up but had a degraded sound so I’m hoping I’ll eventually figure out what section is the culprit but it would help if I could see the service manual.

Not easy with these Class D receivers, many things can go wrong.
At first, on the one that does not start, I will have disconnected the HDMI card.
On the other and if possible, I will have disconnected one by one each amplification card until I find a clean sound on the remaining outputs.

Thanks Huggy,
I swapped the HDMI card but no fix and after swapping it back I’m now getting power up with a display that reads “select mode” no resetting with buttons is helping. Maybe a bad trace or bad connection. Not giving up on it though.

Maybe there's some goldcap on the frontpanel PCB that's worth to remove for a few minutes to shut down everything in the logic circuit completely...
But to be honest I wouldn't waste too much time with it: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...d-measurements-of-pioneer-vsx-lx303-avr.7503/

I’ll give your idea a try.
Yeah I read that too, after purchasing at Goodwill on line; Doh!
I bought a 1990’s era Pioneer stereo at local Goodwill for just under $11 and it sounded super.
I think most of the manufacturers have reached their limit when it comes to packing 10 lbs of stuff into a 5 lb bag.
