Charlize 2 build

I'm considering getting the parts to throw together a Charlize 2, first before all of this, a lot of the threads I see related to this amp are pretty old, is it still pretty awesome or has the King (Queen) been overthrown?

Assuming it's still legit, I want to power the C2 with a Paul Hynes PR3GAP1. What else will I need to complete the setup outside of the chassis, jacks and wiring? I'm not finding many detailed threads on the combo or how to construct the PR3. Alternatively will I need anything else if I buy the assembled Charlize 2?

Tripath chips were flavour-of-the-month in the early-to-mid 2000's, taking up much of the earlier hype surrounding Gainclones. In 2007 Tripath went bankrupt and their chips, though plentiful, have been in depletion ever since.
Many claim that other Class D chips such as those from TI are just as good, and it appears to me that TI chips now dominate discussion in the Class D forum here, and there also seems to be renewed interest in the LM3886.

It's worth mentioning that there are many different models of Tripath chip, some being reported as sounding distinctly better than others. The TA2020 (as found in the Charlize) seems to retain its high standing to this day, and I still occasionally see comments about the TA2020 still having a slight edge over other Class D chips in the same price category.
Bear in mind that the TA2020 is only 13W-22W x2, and not suitable for everyone's favourite speakers.
And of course, you can always step up to a higher tier of Class D amp - Hypex, for example.

- 10k logarithmic pot for volume control, unless you intend to dedicate the Charlize as power amp only, fed by a pre-amp.
- 0-15VAC transformer, or since this is the upper threshold of AC input voltage for the PR3GAP1, use a 0-12VAC transformer instead. Minimum rating 60VA.
Since you didn't mention a transformer, it sounds like you're maybe not familiar with AC wiring?
If so, please be very very careful. Mains AC is potentially lethal. Possibly consider asking a technician for help.

I'm not finding many detailed threads on the combo or how to construct the PR3.
