I'm looking for a USB programmer for ADAU1701 to use with SigmaStudio.
One youtube video talked about needing to use an old version of sigmastudio for their programmer to work.
Can anyone recommend a cheap programmer that works with the latest Sigmastudio?
(I'm not keen on being locked into older versions)
Can FT232 style devices be used?

It never fails to amaze me that after starting a new thread my searches suddenly start getting results.
After reading https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/adau1701-programmer.354277/
I started looking for the programmers mentioned there and none seem available (I don't want to take on the option that needs a lot of building and reprograming)
Anyway the one I settled for was this clone USBi silvery usb thing on Aliexpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003091557781.html
$51 AUD. Hope it works.

Does anyone know how to wire up an ADAU1701 to this clone USBi programmer https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003091557781.html ?
I've looked at lots of datasheets/app notes etc for other devices but can't find clear information on this.

I'm not sure if that programmer will work with the 1701. Looking at the picture it says "For Sharc" which the 1701 is not. Here's the pin out for the 1701 USBi connector.
It's got me worried.
The EVAL-ADAU1701MINIZ board from AD uses
1- SCL
3- SDA
2- USB_CLK (although this seems to be unconnected)
4- 5V usb power (opt)
6- BRD_RST
10- GND
This programmer has all these except 2 and 6. Unless it can reuse some of its other pins as a 6- BRD_RST there is no chance of it working.
Someone in the comments on ALI said they got it going with a ADAU1701. I'm hoping they are in diyaudio and they are not the seller trying to get some dodgy sales.

It works! First time!!!!!! So happy!
That's this USB programmer https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003091557781.html programming an ADAU1701/1401 board.
All it needs connecting is SCL, SDA, and GND and you can power the ADAU from the programmer if you like.
(Note: the programmer in the picture on aliexpress has a OXO2 pin, but the programmer delivered to me had something like CS2 instead - don't know if this has any relevance for programming other devices).

Hi Spot, would like to know your connections to the ADAU1701 board. My board has a 10Way connector just like the programmer you have mentioned.
You just need to connect the SCL, SDA, and GND pins and either power the board externally or from the programmer.
If you're not sure which pins are what on your board, lookup the datasheet for the ADAU chip and follow the pcb traces from the chip to the connector if you can.
