Have you ever had in your life a toroidal transformer Class AB amp (all in one box) with noise below -110 dB, 50/60 Hz hum? I think that's technically impossible. There are manufacturers who use switching power supplies to get around this. Does a change in the design philosophy have to take place here?

not a big issue 😉 the toroids must be well shielded
look at my non-feedback amp

Some of those transformers are so big you could use a bank of SLA batteries to get 48VDC or whatever, throw in some glue-circuitry for idle/sleep and overnight charging, and still save on weight and cost.
What is audible?
Other experiences aside:
Uses only ONE secondary winding from transformers. And also only ONE diode. With two voltages, + and -, e. g. for two separate half-wave amplifiers (pp: A/B) uses only ONE each, so two diodes.
NEVER do use channel separate psus: NEVER dual mono psus! Your ear does detect the differences: more unclean, more choppy, more scratchy, more noisy!
Transformers positioned so that the listener sits in the least EMF. The EMF of transformers are considerably harmful to health and well-being (which also reduces the listening pleasure). Think also about your neighbors;-)-: Toroidal transformers so standing that you could look through their "hole";-)
