Hey All and welcome to my speaker refurbishment thread!
First of all, I picked up a pair of Cyrus / Mission 781's for a steal intending to pair them with an old Pioneer A400 and a KI Sig CD63 CDP.....that was over a year ago!!!
So, this is for the living room, they are black, the missus does not like them...."there's already too much black in here...", "they are too big,..", (!?!?...good job I didn't end up with the 753's...), there are no grills....my youngest is 4......you see how this could become an issue..?
Anyhow, first of all, I started a thread here,..
Cyrus 781 x-over components
..because I found it quite difficult to find info on the x-over components, (I was intending to just re-cap and put into service..), but now, I need to refurb to the "missus standard" and thought I'd put it up here in the hope it will help someone else!
I will document with pictures as I go and any advice / recommendations are welcomed!
Episode 1 to follow....😛

Apologies mods/admin, I have posted in the wrong area of the forum, please feel free to move to "Multi way".....
Dismantling....
Both the woofer and the tweeter are held in place by four screws, the tweeter also having a foam insert behind, although "foam", after 30 years, is no longer foam, but dust!! Also, both drivers are soldered; no spade connectors here!
..and it's the same at the backplate, meaning I had to de-solder in order to remove the drivers / backplate.
The baffles are glued, (hot glue?), into place. Being 30+ years old, the baffles on both cabinets were not, "sound",and were pulled away from the cab quite easily, however, removing this glue is a knightmare!!!
Here are some pics...

...you can see the green foam that is still, or seems to be, ok, that surrounds the interior of the cab, the white "wadding" was rolled up into a "cylinder" and placed behind the woofer....
