Good evening all,
I got a pair of these Dalis as part of a recent rubbish collection, ie for free.
First thing I noticed was there are 2 ports, front and back, for the 2 woofers and reading online seemed to suggest this Dali series used separate enclosures for each woofer.
However removing the woofers showed that there is only one woofer enclosure with 2 ports. Why would Dali do this? A first inspection shows the 2 woofers are wired in parallel. Is it just for looks?
Cheers, sp

That would appear to be so, as there is only one bass reflex tuning frequency of 36.5 Hz.
It shouldn't really matter where the port is, some notice small differences between port placements. I guess this choice would be appealing to those wanting a certain versatility and reviewers often talk about near wall 'tuning' of ports.
I wouldn't worry about it. Do your own placement experiments and measurements as always.

Thanks Galu and AllenB
Is it the case that since the woofers look identical and the ports are the same size that this arrangement of 2 woofers and 2 ports in a box volume is essentially the same as having each woofer and port in half the box volume?
The reasons I ask are
1. It would suit me to have 2 separate woofer enclosures because I could then drive the bottom woofer with a plate amp and configure it as a sub
2. Doing number 1 would also let me use 2 different woofers for the sub part which would then let me use the Dali woofers in another speaker
3. Because they were on the street as rubbish the bottom of the cabinets have water damage and I need to repair anyway so adding a partition would be easy
Hope this makes sense, sp
