Got a Denon POA-1500 that's missing both bulb PCB's for the large VU's.
Thinking of making some new bread boards with white LED's instead of the original 28V bulbs.
Any experience and adwise if it's best result is to use clear, warm or diffus 5mm white LED's?

See if you can get in 2800K - warm white - and use those after roughening with abrasive to get diffused spread.
The colour will be closer to the original bulbs...

Diffused will look better, and less glaring. You might even consider a color.
Adjust the series resistor to get the brightness that looks good for the ambient
lighting in the room. Most LEDs are set far too bright.
