Hello,
I may be in the wrong place (I'm new here) but I am hoping to make and modify my own effects pedals and was wondering where would be a good place to start. I have a background in electronics and know my way around components, using, implementing and sourcing them fairly well. I am just wondering what or where would be a good start for designing effect units, the wiki here seems geared towards intro to amps and or general electronics kind of scarce on instruments let alone effect units. I have been looking at these two books has anyone read them can anyone recommend them? I also look at general instructables and random web searches, but I want a solid foundation into electronic music components. is there a good post/thread, book, blog, or site I might be recommended.

Again I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place or context, I think this is right but I'm new so let me know.

And go check out sites like tonepad.com and diystompboxes.com and runoffgroove.com just for a start! Lots of good folks out there happy to help you....
I recently put together a so called Dumble clone pedal called Z-Drive. Amazing tone.
Have fun!

Craig Anderton definitely! Even if you are familiar with electronics, it is well done with a musician perspective.
