Hi, I'm looking to make a soundcard oscilloscope probe and i've come across 2 links. I'd like to know if anyone could help or make a suggestion or 2?
I've never really gotten into posting here because my posts have always been moderated cause i'm new and never seem to actually make it to the forum for some reason, so i hope these links work:
http://www.ladyada.net/library/equipt/diyaudioprobe.html
this one looks really easy and i could do that right away.
http://www.geocities.com/~uwezi/electronics/projects/soundcard_osci.html#history
this one looks a bit more safe, but i don't have the caps or the opamp and can't find a shop in my area. I'd rather not order, so if anyone could make some suggestions for me, i'd appreciate it.
also when reading this, from the scope that i intend to use, :
http://www.zeitnitz.de/Christian/Scope/Scope_en.html
it says "For external sources care has to be taken, not to exceed the voltage range of the inputs. The range is usually only ±0.7V !! "
is this limit true? that's kind of scary 😛
i can't afford a usb or hardware solution. and i won't be able to for a long whilel can anyone help?
thanks 🙂

I use the Virtins probes which are made for use with sound cards.
They are well made and inexpensive.

This looks to good to be true. Would the oscilloscope pc actually cover the needs of an amature amp/pre builder?
Thanks
Ben
Would the soundcard oscilloscope has same accuracy, in terms of frequency measurement, compared to the real oscilloscopes? What would be the difference between the two?
Just wondering though since I'm planning to buy one.
