Hi everyone I'm Barry. So I came across these speakers. I will get better pics asap. From all the reasrch I've done thay believe to br the CS A31 pioneer speaker. However mine have !any differences e.g horn tweeter I think is a pm3 the cab is a corner design. There was a wire mesh underneath the speakers, looked had cut no dampering material so I pit some Wolley type material inside sealed the great big cut out and blocked the rectangularly port at the front. I was thinking of rebuilding a transmission line, or a horn loaded type I really don't know what to do. I have only the one speaker cab so options are limited but I have read that yhay sound heavenly mid bass, MIDs and the horn tweeter which has its own volume control and I must say that have a certain sound quality very very different. Not the kind you would discard but would like to so better for it. That must be over50 years old the drover's are immaculate. ?????? What to do with them is the question. Thanks

I was just thinking of the karlson design. Eazy to mod and due to the very small woffer movement sound will be of better quality, low frequency. Mids all sound fine. I think it will be very interesting project. Rewarding too.

Maybe if I remove the front baffle I will gain sufficient space to make changes. I was thinking of a transmission line type design?. I've read the paper woffer which has very little movement will work great for this type of build, its sturdy efficient. Virtually zero budget so help me out with ideas please.

Hope its a good read for you. Also could not find my speaker there and the network devider, some sort of crossover unit in a box that allows volume control for horn tweeter. Cleaver stiff/thinking back then.

I baught a pair of celestion ditton44 about 3 years ago for £100 perfect condition naw no less than £350 or more!! My mission 770 need work doing on them that are all fine but some replacement woffers and tweeters are needed, I have the original tweeters buy must have a problem with them because the crossovers are fine. The woffers are fine also but I have only 1 original. I'm in process of connecting speaker cable directly to the bord of my sansui ,R50 receiver but thought it was an easy job, how wrong was eye! Need help with that also. And issues with my thorns td50 mk1 and mk2. Maw I'm up set and going to bed!!!!

The crossover networks should be the DN-1 DN-2 etc.

Your right Ivr had a long hard search for them but could not find the one in the speaker
It's the silver box on the first set of 3 pics. Avery low number like 2/3. Access to the inside was so restricted it was difficult to take a good PIC bit very similar to this. So have you any suggestions as to do improveing the low end. The Karlson design imply that a stiff woffer like mine works well with his designs( less movement ) I will have to ask someone with experience who has made his cabs.

I believe the PW-12A driver of your is the same as the PW-30A. dont know how close the pw-12c is to pw-12a in specs though, but linked below.
This is late 60s early 70s vintage Pioneer gear, you will find the crossover network etc in old Pioneer 60-70s catalogs, there should be manuals if you can find them somewhere, Best source is likely Pioneer or Japanese sites.

To Astrojet. What's a wide band 2.5 way? Sorry for my ignorance but I only know what I know. Asking questions helps. Thanks any suggestions on what I should do with my speaker?
This with the PT-3 on top. Matching widebands with an inductor on one and a cap or something on the tweeter.
Your woofers look awesome and if they haven't degraded too much over time, I'd try to use them in what would no doubt be an unsuccessful 3-way Frankenstein if they were mine -- and the lack of success would be due to my relative inexperience in speaker design.
But, my best suggestion to you would be to start a new thread based on them and let the amazingly knowledgable and kind members of this forum help you find what you are looking for.

Hello..I thought all the interest had finished. .anyhows the drivers are still in the cab. .honestly I don't know what to do. I know that they are rare in my perfect condition. I don't know what to do. ...odds on finding 3 identical units ar slim. Thay would make a beautiful mono speaker married to a valve amp. Right now im looking forward for my 2 new items. ..ditton 66 mk1. ..and another receiver just like my pioneer sx410 its a pioneer er420. I've asked a question about power and ohm's/amps to match on audio karma. .check it out my friend. And thanks for you comments..
