Hello All, could somone please tell me how to make a drawing of a component for the librury in EagleCad of various valve/tube components, there is not anything on the libruary similar to modify, I also want to know how to draw the base for the same components. The components I want to draw are as follows. Double triode, ECC81 type, either two single triodes or a single double triode B9A base also a single pentode EF86 again B9A base, finaly a Pentode type EL34 and an KT88 both using an Octal base. Everything I have seen so far has not answered the question. Hopefully someone will be able to tell me.either ready drawn or instructions of how to drew them myself. Regards Pepe Rush PS some infromation to know where to look for this thread and the answers to it please.

Hello,
They are a Lot of Tube librairies for Cadsoft (Farnell) Eagle!
A Tutorial for component definition is also existing.
From Scratch, you need first the Drawings of the Valve bases (B9A ans so in). Simple Google for this Information...
If from importance I will give You More Information. I have a Big Biblio with all Kind of components. But you have First to Unverstand what you are Doing and to know what is possible...

First the tube bases:

The Eagle Libraries:
Bibliothek - Bauteilbibliotheken für EAGLE zum Download & Upload
--> search for "tube"
In Eagle (sorry, my version is german):
- Files/Open/Librairies --> choose one downloaded "tube" library
- New Device (if not existing) --> name it (for example, ECC81)
- no schematics symbol, no package
- you can add a Description
- you can choose with the option "Add" for adding a existing schematic symbol (for example TRIODE)
- same procedure if the device had more then one schematics symbol (for example HEATER or another TRIODE and HEATER)
- in the symbol field by tipping you can edit the G$1 to N and replace it bei letters from A to Z (part with more then one symbol are named R100A to R100Z)
- you can modiy the "Prefix" (you don´t like R for Trimmer ok then change the prefix into P)
- now add to the schematics symbol the package by selecting "New", a list of packages is displayed and you have to choose the right one (for example NOVAL)
- last step you have to connect the schematics symbol with the Package: select "Connect" and a table is displayed for the interconnection between both symbols)
Open a job and add the new created smbol into the schematics: you have to select the library do you want to use with the schematic tool (Librairy/Use).
Download a library from Cadsoft; try to define a new component by modifying an existing component.
Next step, create a new component with symbol and package...
