Driver replacement from ALTO TS318s

Hi!
I have two Alto TS318s subwoofers and I'm looking to upgrade the drivers. The boxes and amps (2 kW max) are well constructed but the drivers are not that great.
The net internal volume is around 173 liters and the tuning frequency is around 32 Hz.

I'm using these in my cover band, and I'm looking for drivers that can deliver a good punch between 40-80 Hz. We dont have any instruments that go lower than 40 Hz.
The budget is around 250-500 EUR/USD for each driver.

What kind of driver can you guys recommend? What kind of spec should I look for?

Thank you!

what does the existing driver look like and what impedance is it?

The box looks to have larger ports and a lower tune than normal, the port area only been 170cm^2 could become problematic with a higher excursion driver. Can you adjust the subowoofers high pass filter? if so you might want to shorten the ports.

Hi!
I think it's 8 Ohm.
Looks like this:
https://www.relaisduson.shop/WOOFER-18-POUR-SUB-ALTO-TS218S-TS318S-p-26612-c-26_475_480.html

Each port is 179 cm^2, so the total area of these ports are 358 cm^2

Hm if I shorten the ports, doesnt that make the tuning of the box even lower?

visually the driver looks pretty good, decent magnet size and cast frame so far from the cheapest. Upgrade drivers would probably be high end neo driver like the B&C 18DS115. But this will require a change in the box equalization as the frequency response will be nowhere near flat. You may also be able to get more SPL by switching to a 4ohm driver if the amp will take it (+3dB). Is it possible to just increase the number of subs you use or is two subs the limit? going to 4 subs would give you +6dB.

Changing the drivers won't make a meaningful difference, the box determines system tuning and 2kw is plenty to get full potential from most drivers in a reflex enclosure. If you desire more kick you need more of the same boxes, it comes down to air displacement and for that four 18" reflex subs is where things just start to get interesting. The other option is to go with a horn sub of some type but either way you will end up carrying more or larger equipment.
