The BJT-NPN transistor replacements I ordered have E-B-C instead or orig E-C-B. What do most folks do? Reorder and wait, wire a workaround or insulate and twist legs for proper config?
Many years ago, when I had this issue, I would use a 4-hole (square) PCB pattern for ~TO-98 parts that fit TO-5 with an extra E hole. But you can just turn the part 90deg and bend two leads to fit the pattern you have. If the leads are short, they can't short together. A triangle hole pattern is less vulnerable to vibration than a straight line.
