I have a PCI e-mu 1212m and a not so old PC which lacks a PCI slot.
I plan to use a PCI-PCIe bridge like this one for this purpose.

Plan is to use this soundcard as an audio analyzer on Win 7 using REW, ARTA etc.
Anyone see any potential issues with this approach?

It should work. There is a height problem since the EMU card is full height. You may be able to use a right angle riser to move the card to a place where it fits better. Make sure you have decent power for the adapter.
I just found this Internal PCI-E Express Slot Expresscard to PCI Card Adapter E Bridge 3.3V 5V DG | eBay which seems to be the same thing for lots less.
And if you want to make it more complex but not in the box there is this: PCI-e 1x to 16x slot adapter riser for PCI Express Graphics Video sound card | eBay Which moves the PCIE slot away from the box. Kludgy to do all of this but it should work.
