Ebay/ali/Chinese soft start board (power)

Does anyone have any experience with a nice implementation of the above?

Quite a few on eBay. Some look nicer than others but I M unqualified to comment on design or quality of components.

I ask due to the seriousness of playing with mains voltages and not wanting to burn the house down with substandard items.!

I haven't used one but I'd try it. Even if it's faulty it'll just blow the fuse.

Personally, I use a 1-10 second delay relay board to drop out a resistor as soft start.

Yes, transformer too so it has a standby function, momentary low voltage switch operates first relay which initiates the soft start, second relay bypasses the NTC thermistors. It also has option of overheat sensing

It's well made and I've had no issues with it, shop around there are a number of suppliers
