Eminence delta 12A + B&C DE10 8 ohm speakers

Dear DIY enthusiasts,
I want to build a set of passive PA speakers. After a long search for a ready made building plan with available and affordable drivers I decided to try and adjust an existing plan to drivers of my choice.

I am on the verge of ordering the Eminence delta 12A woofer with the B&C DE10 8 ohm compression driver and a RCF H100 horn. I have some concern about the crossover region. The woofer seems to behave odd from 1.5 khz up (see image) whereas the B&C compression driver has to be crossed at 2.5 khz (recommended). I am not sure if the drivers are a match soundpressure wise.

The cabinet I have in mind I found on Lautsprecher - Musik - Selbstbau the model D2544-K12. I don't feel so guilty as I have bought 2 of there kits in the past.

I haven't yet been able to use Winisd to calculate the cabinet as for the moment I am using a library where I am unable to instal.

I plan on crossing the speakers active with a mini dsp (that I already own). For the lowest frequencies I want to use the THAM 15 subwoofer that we build a few weeks ago. I will probably crossover to the tops somewhere between 100 and 150 hz.

Do you think this plan might be a good one for a decent PA system 🙂? What fails?

Which electronics do I need to or are advisable to build in? I was thinking about a +- 30 microfarad capacitor in series with the hf driver.

DIY 12" 2 ways often use the cast frame version (Pro12A) because the breakup rise is smooth instead of a big spike. If you're crossing the tweet high and the sub at 100, consider the Delta 10A. The breakup rise starts sooner (800 hz) but is almost exactly 6dB per octave and continues to your target crossover point. Very easy to get passive or active filtering right.

Thanks for your reply and the advice. I just read about cone breakup and it sounds like a bad thing. Shouldn't I try to avoid using this breakup range of the woofer entirely?
The eminance pro 12's are a lot more expensive unfortunately. Anyone knows an affordable (and in europe available) comp driver that can be crossed at 1.5 kHz?
Otherwise I will probably go with the delta 10a.
A long time since I was posting on a forum. A great way to learn in my experience

Two kappa 12a's would make the project 46 euros more expensive compared to the delta 10 or 12 a. I have already ordered the drivers by now. I chose the proposed eminance delta 10a together with the B&C DE10 8 ohm compression driver and the RCF H100 horn. I already cut most of the panels and can't wait to receive all the parts and build my first pa system. I wan't to use the system for a small party next saturday!
Pictures: empty cabinets and a THAM 15 subwoofer which is functional but not yet finished.
