I'm trying to improve the sound of this EQ but there are no schematics. Anyone have a clue what should be replaced for improvement? I'm mainly interested in the path of the valves. Thanks

I'll be replacing the capacitors. Does anyone know which are the input and output caps on just the valves?
Any advice appreciated!
OK,
what is lacking today ? Any measurment ? Any symptoms of bad sound ?
This must be recorded before in order to verify that any changes results in an improvement.
Theres a lot of low grade film caps I would like to replace, especially around the tubes but as mentioned before I am uncertain which is input and output caps
You are going to have difficulty finding better caps that won't be difficult to fit to a pcb.
Regardless, the two yellow 104/250, the 224/63 and the red one at C13 appear to be in the audio path. Possibly the two black/blue electrolytics may be cathode bypass caps.
Don't be tempted to go for lower voltage ratings to save space, particularly with C13 and the two 104 which have to be at least 250v rated.

Why do you think you need to replace components ? Are the unit distorting orThank you. I will dig it out later and find some decent replacements
behaving bad in any way ? Or is it the solder'itis that demands some work ?
A friend handed these to me and said it could do with replacing the old capacitors and if I could also improve the quality by replacing some of the audio path capacitors. It won't hurt to replace some of the important looking stuff for something higher quality
So you want to replace components by a word from a friend ? Have you tested it "as is " to see if there is anything wrong with them ? If not, how would you deem if your replacements will improve or worsen the sound ?A friend handed these to me and said it could do with replacing the old capacitors and if I could also improve the quality by replacing some of the audio path capacitors. It's not uncommon knowledge that replacing the capacitors improves the sound quality. It's working perfectly as is. I already ordered a few replacement parts around the valve as suggested by another kind member
So, if working perfectly what is expected from a switch ?It's not uncommon knowledge that replacing the capacitors improves the sound quality. It's working perfectly as is. I already ordered a few replacement parts around the valve as suggested by another kind member
Excuse me, but i do not see the logic. It's working perfect. Why risk making it worse or even damage it ?
