I visited www.solen.ca (Solen Montréal) website and I was hit with an "EVERYTHING MUST GO!" style banner, closeout pricing on all their Eton inventory.
Well, that's a shame--the more I hear the 5-312 Kevlar woofer-mid, the more I love it.
The Jungle Telegraph tells me that Madisound is dropping the line also, just perhaps with less fanfare.
Too bad.

Solen dropped Fane and Precision Devices as well. Picked up SBAudience and Kartesian as replacements.
Precision Devices stopped selling to individuals and DIY suppliers in the UK years ago ie at least 3 years before ATC did the same.Solen dropped Fane and Precision Devices as well. Picked up SBAudience and Kartesian as replacements.
Too bad; they've been selling their stuff for years.
Even on sale their stuff's pretty dear.
I am using their 8" (8-412/C8/32 I think) in a sealed box.
It does pretty well; it doesn't plumb the depths but it's clean. I only run it up to 600Hz so the breakup at 3500Hz is not bothersome.

Oh well, I dunno if Eton was high on my radar of state of the art, or great value... like Dynaudio, when they went away I wasn't so sad...
Precision Devices maybe not so much.
ATC's double suspension mid dome and tweeter is probably a loss.
Misco / Bold North Audio is gearing up different driver sizes and there may be kits coming too. Hopefully arriving mid year

The Arcosia woofers and HD2 tweeters are some of my all-time favorite drivers. A bit pricey, but worth it for their detailed yet smooth sound. Sad to see them going out of production.
I’m fully convinced of the benefits of metal cones with dampened breakup peaks. Unfortunately, the Eton Arcosia and Markaudio MAOP are the only such drivers I’ve found, and both are hard to obtain. Other recommendations are welcome, if you know of anything I’ve missed. Seas excel graphene or EAD drivers are maybe next on my list to try.

@gregulator .
Esoteric audio devices = EAD i assume.
Also Gorlich from Germany belongs in that category, used by Magico until they started producing they're own.

"High labour and other costs in Germany have been driving many companies to relocate parts or all of their business to cheaper locations in emerging European economies and elsewhere or to think about doing so.
Lars Feld, an economic adviser to the German finance minister Christian Lindner, said the energy crisis - which has seen gas prices soar following a collapse in Russian gas supplies to Europe since Russia's invasion of Ukraine - was bringing those sorts of decisions to a head.
"Industry, thinking of moving, is now going to wait to see how the energy price brake works. It is an important psychological boost. But we will not be able to return to energy prices as they were before the (Ukraine) war," Feld said.
As manufacturers in Germany face energy bills of up to 10 times more than what they paid two years ago, one in five engineering firms saw the risk of relocating at least some of their business overseas, a survey by German union IG Metall showed last month.
High energy prices helped drive up consumer inflation in Germany to 10.9% in September, the highest level in more than a quarter of a century, which in turn is putting upward pressure on wages, adding to labour costs."
