Hi
I bought a ported box that is 3 cu ft.

Box volume (net. int.): 3.0 cubic feet
Tuned to: 35Hz
Woofer cutout diameter: 14" round (oversized subs may require slight mod)
Box weight: 56 lbs.
Dimensions (W x H x D): 37-1/4" x 17" x 14"

That's from the Craigslist ad.

Then i read someone saying -
The enclosure has a net volume of 3.25 cu. ft. and is 24” high x 16.5” wide x 20.75” deep.

This person is saying his box has a 1/4 cu ft larger net volume......
Yet i think his external dimensions are smaller, right ?

Anyone care to help me understand ?

Is my box really 3.0 cu ft net volume ?

I know the first thing that will be brought up, is the thickness of the MDF that was used. 1/2" or 3/4" is the answer to that..

Hi.
I follow the math completely.... I Agree

3 Cu. Ft. Custom-Ported MDF Subwoofer Enclosure for 15" Round Sub (3

Hope that Website Link works.

If we assume that my box is made, on all sides, out of 1" thick mdf......
What net internal volume would i have ? Would it still be over 3 cu ft ?

Is the Port (volume ) included when stating the volume of an enclosure ?

When speaker manufacturers give the ' Vented Volume ' ( as seeable at any Parts Express webpage for any Dayton Audio subwoofer ) Does this mean without the volume of the Port/ Vent ?
