Focal and Cabasse drivers value?

I just parted out four huge custom speakers and subs that were full of Focal drivers and 4 Cabasse drivers.

I want to sell all these components. Can I ask for values here? (I checked ebay "sold" listings and couldn't find much. I suspect that's because these are older drivers. ) Or should I just list them in swap meet?


Speakers were unused for 5-8 years and sat in a climate controlled house while an estate was settled.

Here's what I pulled:
SIX Focal 12V726
FOUR Cabasse 17 NDLB
TWO Focal Audiom 15KX
FOUR Focal 7V313
TWO Focal Audiom TLR
TWO Focal 122Ti027
FOUR Focal 8K5167

1) you should be able to find some indicator, like prior catalogue prices / 2nd hand listings for most of them, eg:

FS: Rare Focal Audiom 15-KX 15" subwoofer driver | Head-Fi.org

BUT:

2) also be guided by the new prices for modern equivalents, such as Faital Pro or B&C. There's a lot more diversity / lower prices for good gear these days.

If you're in no rush, you could do what the guy in that link did - ask for a fairly high price, then wait 4 months.

...and maybe drop the price by 10% every few weeks.

Just like a vintage (e.g. 1950's, 60's, 70's and yes 80's) automobile, things have improved across the board and much of the value is sentimental in nature.

What Hollowboy suggested (price high, then slowly decrease) is not a bad strategy but you might be stuck with them for quite some time before finding a buyer. You might instead broadly advertise and do an auction on Ebay with a low starting value for each driver, assuming you can pack and ship them. That way market forces will determine the value for you and you move them in a reasonable amount of time.

I built some 2 ways about 20 years back with the Cabasse 17 NDLB. Thought they were quite nice. Might be interested in taking a pair or two off your hands if they're not priced too high. Let me know when/if you figure out pricing.
