Focal sopra 3 diy alternative ?

Hi everyone,
Keen to start diy project to build something as close as possible to Focal Sopra 3 specification and sound quality wise, as can not afford to buy one. 🙁
More then confident to utilise my skills with building cabinet and finish, but have no clue about drivers and crossovers , in a past just did simple diy speakers sett reusing some old drives and crossovers matched to it. Essentially removing all hardware and fitting to newly made cabinet.

for this project like to make something more substantial and something that could be enjoyed for years to come and nice to look at! Have good idea of cabinet size and design, something like 170x45x55 would be very acceptable. Have workshop where can do all woodwork and finish.
Have budget of 1500£ excluding cabinet build so just drivers.
For around that price I can buy focal 926 but after listening to sett of those in shop was wishing for more bass and not impressed with look of cabinets. That’s why Sopra 3 looks like something I would enjoy to listen to and look at!
Was thinking about using Seas drives, so could do with advice reg matching it all and calculating exact internals of box size required, crossovers ect.
Open to idea of having to build active subwoofers at base of unit with integrated amplifier and running rest from my Marantz p7000n.

Thanks for your reply, will check SB Acoustics Satori drivers.
Hope it’s available here in UK.
Managed to find some Focal designs online that show box construct so slowly moving forward with it.

Was hopping for some support from this forum here. But also looking for some local specialists , but struggling at the moment.
Only found 1 so far , would have to build everything and fit drives, then post speakers 200miles away for crossovers, not ideal, but seems like only option I have so far!
Looked at diy kits with crossovers but so far all I could find is kits with cheap parts, only started this journey that’s why posted here and actively looking true all projects on this website

At least a start. You could build a (quickest would be foamboard) prototype focal box fill them. If it sounds terrible then build the original boxes.

2nd post (TMWW) rebox this into sopra box.

Already started building cardboard box to get design and dimensions. Thanks for your input, will look true those links this evening. Very helpful!
Think I might have came across one solution for crossovers, using SB acoustics drives and crossovers they build for one of they’re kits.
Slightly different speaker setup then I wanted but think it would work for me as well.
Will post more information once find out parts availability. Making sure I don’t get to excited 🙂

Quick update,
The kit I was looking at was Sb acoustics Sasandu https://sbacoustics.com/product/sasandu/
Was going to buy just components and like planned build custom box myself. However still can not get quote for all components needed.
Looks like I can get speaker drives easy enough, just components for crossovers will be harder. Any recommendations for one stop shop regards components for crossovers?
Also did anyone had any experience or have listened to beryllium tweeters? they would be most expensive component in this build.
