FS: Visaton Atlas DSM Active Speakers – Germany

These speakers were made by my father-in-law recently deceased. He was a hifi and electrical enthusiast for many years.

They are for sale as a complete system and must be picked up from Sindelfingen in Germany (close to Stuttgart) as they are very heavy.

I have tried to describe them as accurately as possible by the documentation he has left. The speakers have had very little use and the speaker drivers look in as new condition. No dents, rips etc. and the rubber surrounds look great.

They are triamped with Monacor Mosfet amplifers, 2 x PMA-102 (75 watts RMS, 8 ohm) and 1 x PMA 202 (180 watts RMS, 8 ohm) per speaker. The DSM 50 and 25 are run passively from one amplifier. Schematic 3 has the bass and passive tops shown in reverse order. I would assume the 470VA supply is for the 202 amplifier running the bass speaker.

The circuits show a Visaton Modac A5 active 3 way crossover.

Speaker drivers:
Visaton TIW 360
Visaton AL 200
Visaton DSM 50
Visaton DSM 25

The cabinets are a ported design, well made and internally braced and stuffed. They have a bitumen paint type finish on the inside, and stand on steel spikes.

From the back I can see the heatsinks for the 3 amplifiers, and the line input and power supply. The wires coming from the back have resistors attached, and I would presume that the are the pads for the upper middle and high tweeter which are run passively (see schematic).

If there is no interest in the complete system, then I would consider selling the speaker drivers as a set, and the ampifiers as a set.

I am uncertain if the active crossover has been implemented, and have been told that he may have installed a passive crossover. I have not been able to disassamble the Speakers to check. Sorry that this aspect is a little vague. I will try to find out more in the following days. As such the active crossover is included but may not be working. A mini DSP may be a good solution here!

Price EUR 990 + Paypal fees (or cash on pickup)

Does this seem like a fair Price? any comments please?
