Has anybody used The Quintessa's program Graph Grabber? I get good results, but having issues with converting data to text for XSim. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I use fprawnlabs' "FPGraphTracer" which works flawlessly. What seems to be the trouble you are experiencing converting data to text?
A simple manual curve digitizer is also available in XMachina. Select the “Load FRD[or ZMA] from picture" option when loading characteristics. See the "Loading FRD(ZMA) from a picture" chapter in the pdf for more details. When the data is loaded it's possible export it to the frd or zma file: right click on the characteristics node and select "Export FRD[or ZMA]" from the menu.
FPGraphTracer is neat -- but allows one trace to be saved at a time, doesn't seem to allow the user to select the number of points. Nor doesn't it seem to work too well with black and white images.
Hi jdh,
GraphGrabber csv file is only two columns per trace. You need 3 columns for .frd and .zma files for Xsim. Also no header text for the first row.
Edit the csv file from GraphGrabber in a spreadsheet.
Delete the first header row.
Add a 3rd column. If no phase data then fill it with zero's.
Save as csv or txt file.
Edit the file extensions to .frd or .zma
A help file is attached for using Graph Grabber for anyone getting started. Let me know if there are any problems with using it. It's so easy to be tripped up on some seemingly trivial step in this long process. I have used it for capturing MOSFET plots for use in LTspice Tables for VDMOS model extraction
Cheers,

Why don't you all use VituixCAD SPL Trace which saves directly with 3rd column as minimum phase? Or is there some actual problem or limit or difficulty other than Windows - or just protest against my continuous discount of response tracing?
