Our audio shop has closed due to retirement and I would like to share our mod for the HK Citation 16 & 16A. I hope that this will help some of you who would like a little better sound quality but the mod will improve clarity first and foremost.

C1 can be replaced with a 1uF/63V WIMA MKP2 polypropylene film instead of the 100uF electrolytic. The corner frequency will be approx 7.23 Hz.
I notice that the two pairs of rail capacitors have been increased from 10,000mfd to 22,000mfd YET no provision has been made to include and input surge protector. For me it shows a lack of understanding on what these larger caps will do to the power switch and that the turn on surgewill be in excess of 50 amps.
I have restored and upgraded many, many Citation 16s and 16As. They were my 3rd most popular brand/model when I ran my business. My own personal amp was upgraded back in 1990 and in all cases there has never been a power switch failure due to larger power supply caps. It is implied that the .01uF ceramic caps are still in place across the power switch and are in good working condition.
The stock 8A rectifiers are replaced with 35A bridges in my upgrade.
