Ok I'm new to this forum and all forums in general so I apologize if this topic has been brought up and discussed already. I have a JL Audio 13TW5v2 Subwoofer in a JL Audio F150 Supercrew stealthbox hooked up to a kicker cx1200.1 mono Amp. I have a JL Audio Slash 300/4v2 running my door speakers and a Audio control LC2i LOC with the factory receiver as the head unit still. Also a Capacitor for both amps. My issue is that my JL 13TW5 sub will just playing once in a while, and if I turn the volume up on the receiver or on the LC2i bass knob it will come back on for awhile and then shut off again. I've checked my Amp and it will still be on when the sub cuts out, plus my door speakers continue to play. Now I also have a JL Audio 12TW3 sub that I've hooked up to see if it does the same thing with the 13TW5 disconnected of coarse and it seems to play fine without cutting out at all. The 12TW3 is in a normal JL Audio Shallow truck wedge box. The 13TW5 is 2ohms and I checked it with a DMM which read 2.5. Now I'm no expert on this audio stuff just really getting into it. So if anyone can give me some feedback I'd greatly appreciate it.
JL 13TW5 cutting out
I was told this was the best site for info and not even 1 person can give me any idea what could be the issue here? Someone with some knowledge on car audio please help, any feedback is better than none

You need to confirm that the voltage across the terminals of the amplifier (directly on the terminal block) is not dropping too far.
Could be a sticky/stuck voice coil or a problem with the terminals/tinsel leads. The added power/voltage overcomes the issue by brute force, and there is music. When the high voltage/power goes away, the speaker relaxes and sticks again. Using some test equipment in situ (current clamp or series shunt ammeter + parallel voltmeter) and observing as the speaker cuts out and in will tell you if it is a mech issue or electrical. Course of action depends on many things, but many roads lead to recone or replacement.
The most important question: is the speaker still under warranty? JL dealers swap out speakers under warranty with very little hassle.
