subwoofer dustcaps replaced. with a weight on them while drying. its been drying overnight for about 6 to 8 hours so far.
how long before I can use them?
how long before I can use them?
depending upon the humidity usually in the range of thirty minutes to an hour, or as soon as it does not wet your fingers when you touch it.
it feels totally dry not even tacky anymore unless I try to dig my nail into it but it doesnt stick at all to my fingernail or fingers and its pretty stiff

ok! thanks! I tested them and so far they havent come loose or popped off at maximum excursion. still feels solid on there. poly dustcaps 6.5" dustcaps by the way.
the original dustcap cracked in the very center (the original dustcap acts as the cone too since its one big huge inverted dome.) so I cut a hole out with a razer blade on both subwoofers slightly larger than the voice coil to get rid of the cracked area. and put these dustcaps over the subwoofers to make it look and sound better. the crack was making a whistling noise and it was bothering me so thats why i got new dustcaps for them. the subwoofers look way better now too and more professional look compared to the crappy cheap 3D logo built into the dustcap they had that cracks easily.
they sound better too. slightly less boomy and more clean sounding.
