Hi everybody!
I'm using a Toslink to analog converter to connect the TV to my Luxman L3 amplifier:
When I use other sources like CD players, I hear no humm or other kind of noise. Only when I select PHONO I can hear a small humm noise + a sharp sound, but just a little an it's not annoying.
But using this DAC I hear very annoying Humm noise + sharp sound.
Neither the TV nor the DAC have a ground connection.
Maybe connecting TV or DAC to ground can solve the problem? And if so, how can I ground the TV or DAC?
Thanks a lot.

The noise might be caused by SMPS in one or both of your AC-line powered devices, and or by the dac Wall Wart if one is used to power it. You could try grounding one of the RCA connector shields on the little dac if you want. But remember, its not a very good dac to begin with so you probably shouldn't expect too much in the way of good performance from it.
Thanks Markw4. Changing the wall wart to a better one (apple) improved a lot, but I'm still hearing a small sharp sound.
Maybe I can solve the problem by grounding the wall wart.
Are you sure that I can ground the shield of a RCA connector?

It shouldn't hurt anything, but you could try putting a resistor in series with the ground to limit leakage current just in case. Also, connect up the ground with the power off, then turn things back on. Sometimes is possible to get a little "tickle" from low level leakage currents caused by SMPS (including those used in wall warts), but they are supposed to be at a safe level. Are you sure that I can ground the shield of a RCA connector?
You could also try replacing the dac wall wart with a linear power supply. Could be the sharp sound is from switching noise in the wall wart.
Solved. The problem was with the RCA cable. I guess it wasn't properly shielded. Changed to another one, and now no humm nor sharp noise.
@CondeMor do you have a good output signal level? I have a DAC very similar to yours, and I'm trying to adapt it to my old Sony mini system (MHC GT-222) to receive audio from my new Samsung TV via Toslink optical. But the sound level I get is extremely low. I'm even studying creating a preamplifier with a TL081 or OPA2134 because of this problem.
